I am an artist/designer based in Istanbul and Berlin, working on painting, illustration and graphic design projects. After studying graphic design, I worked at local and global advertising agencies. Since 2009, I have been running my design studio, which is mainly focused on brand identity and printed media. Also, I have been making paintings, illustrations, and objects, both on demand and for my own pleasure.

 

In my personal work, which is mostly influenced by surrealism, animés, cartoons, haikus, and Oriental mythical creatures, I mostly create figurative images that question the process of personal development, relationships, destruction, creation and perception of reality. I enjoy trying to convey an emotion to the audience, more than telling a story, using unexpected elements together with uncommon ratios and relations.

 

I get inspired by nature, traveling, animals, space, the universe, journeys, dystopias and the stories of the apocalypse. The concept of juxtaposition and the materials I use are also my inspirations.

 

I like incorporating elements like typography, calligraphy, graffiti, graphics & advertising language in my works, owing to my design education and background. I use physical materials and media; such as acrylic paint, colored pencils, ink, watercolor, wood, paper, canvas, as well as digital drawing and painting programs. I also produce objects and installations using wood, fabric, paper, and plexiglass.
